Lincolnton, North Carolina

The Lincoln County seat, on the South Fork of the Catawba River northwest of Charlotte, was incorporated in 1785 and, like the county, named for Gen. Benjamin Lincoln. The Battle of Ramsour's Mill was fought here on June 20, 1780.
